BPI® FITT® Termination
The BPI® FITT® Termination is a field installed threaded termination device. Easy installation - just snug it up with a pipe wrench, no other special assembly required. FITT® Termination replaces hooks and hook extensions. It avoids complex stress patterns and alleviates congestion. Unlike traditional headed reinforcement, the BPI® FITT® Termination doesn't require heat, welding or forging. The BPI® FITT® Termination offers strength without bending or cracking rebar. Use the BPI® FITT® Termination for beam-column joints, knee joints, pile caps, column roof slab connections.
BPI® FITT® Terminations are made from high quality steel. Installed termination performance satisfies the CLASS A and CLASS HA requirements of ASTM A970-17 and ACI 318-19 Chapter 20.2.1.6. Develops the specified tensile strength of uncoated ASTM A615 Grade 60 or ASTM A706 Grade 60 reinforcing bar.
BPI® FITT® Coupler
The BPI® FITT® Coupler is a field installed threaded coupler for reinforcing bars. Easy installation - Attaches directly to reinforcing bar easily and quickly in the field with standard pipe wrenches and no special torque required. The BPI® FITT® Coupler doesn't require specialized installation equipment. It requires no special bar end preparation or thread cutting. The BPI® FITT® Coupler is a type 2 full mechanical splice - ACI 318-19 Section 18 and 2021 International Building Code. Exceeds specified tensile strength (fu) ASTM A615 and A706 Grade 60 uncoated deformed bars.
Confirming in-air tests exceed specified tensile strength (fu) when installed on ASTM A615 Grades 75 & 80 and A706 Grade 80 uncoated deformed bars. The BPI® FITT® Coupler Exceeds 125% x specified yield (fy) per AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications. Capacity to exceed 135% x fy and 100% x fu Grade 60 bars.
